That wasn’t a Chris Rock “cameo”. This was his first ever film appearance. He was just a struggling comic/actor at this time.

R.I.P Gil Hill ( Inspector Todd). He was a real Detroit policeman at time of the first film. Since he's not an actor but he fit what they wanted, they told him to not worry about acting. Just be himself. After this series he gave up acting & became a Detroit City Councilman. Such a cool story from this series.

Makes you feel old when they refer to the song as the crazy frog song

The first one is perfect, but this is also my favorite, seeing Axel/Taggert/Billy working more fluidly here was this film's main anchor, I love how Taggert and Billy's reactions to Axel's wacky antics are more like "Just go with it."

11:25 Eddie Murphy ad-libbed many scenes throughout the Beverly Hills Cop series, the script provided the setup and Murphy elevated it with his improvisation. John Ashton (Taggart) said in an interview that he was struggling not to laugh so his reactions were 100% genuine.

Jurgen Prochnow and Dean Stockwell two of the lead villains in this also appeared together in David Lynch's 1984 version of Dune.

Ronny Cox was busy filming Robocop at the time, hence Bogomil’s smaller role.

I absolutely think this is the best in the series! It kicks off with a great opening scene, the villains and action are great, and this one has the best interactions between Axel and Billy and Taggart.
