This was filmed in and around my hometown the summer after 5th grade. It was very exciting for all of us to see Clint (our hero) around town, out to eat etc. My Dad was a stone mason and built the sign base for the scene at the end when T & L find the old schoolhouse. 52 years later and I've been a stone mason for 44 years and counting. Thanks Pop! Great reaction Cassie! As always.

Another Old Jeff Bridges you'll like is "Star man " with Karen Allen

I got to watch them film parts of this movie. My dad was in the Air Force and he just got stationed at the base in Great Falls, MT. We were waiting for on-base housing and were staying at the log cabin motel that they filmed in. I was only about 12 at the time. I met the Art Directors daughter who was my age, and we hit it off. She got us in to several of the filming locations/scenes. We got to meet Clint Eastwood (I had him sign a Superman comic, and he said that was a first for him). We also met Gearge Kennedy. He was a super nice guy. Him and some suit were walking across the lot and we ran up asking for an autograph. The suit tried to brush us off, saying they were in too big of a hurry. George Kennedy stopped, and said "Hold on - we always make time for the fans!" - He signed all our stuff and was super friendly. In the hotel scene where the girl walked out of the room, they shot several takes. They had screen partitions up to block it from open view. We got to stand there and look through the gap in the screens. On one of the takes, the girl walked out naked! - Oh man, I was a fan of the movie at that point! That was the first naked girl I had ever seen! There she was standing about 30 feet away! They wound up not using the nude scene, and had her come out in her bra and panties. My pops said later it was because the motel owners did not approve of them having public nudity on their property. The bank depository they robbed was just an empty commercial building downtown. The parts showing inside the vaults were filmed in a school gymnasium. Clint Eastwood was good about putting his friends in his movies. If you go back and look at his films (especially the ones made from 1970 thru 1985) you will see lots of the same actors.

George Kennedy and Clint team up together in the film "The Eiger Sanction" Clint did most of his own stunts!

Excellent choice, this movie doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.

The "cannon" they use to breach the vault wall is actually a 20mm Oerlikon anti-aircraft gun that was typically mounted on ships for air defense.
