Actually, there was a scene, where Cletus was upset about what Brock wrote in a piece about Cletus... that's what occupied his mind before the execution... he disliked that Brock left out his childhood details.

This PCS was fun, but by no means surprising. The fact that the Venom films are PG-13 and have that Whedony humor in them despite starring a supervillain pretty much earmarked Venom as meant-for-MCU content.
I feel you Greg on the cautious optimism, I feel the same way about the whole thing /:
I'm more interested in that conversation between Greg and John when the stream went live.
The major change I think that would’ve helped the film: Make the Carnage symbiote the son of Eddie, Venom, and Anne. In the comics, Carnage it’s Venom’s offspring, which carries over into this movie. Except reveal that being in contact with both Eddie, and Anne allowed Venom to reproduce. Carnage is a young confused symbiote. Cletus Kassidy lures the symbiote onto him and his mind manipulates the Carnage Symbiote into becoming evil, similar to what Joker does to Robin in Batman Beyond. The Carnage symbiote becomes twisted, Eddie saying that it needs to be killed, while Venom wants to save it, seeing it as its only other family. This would create a real grounded and serious conflict among all the characters, and give Anne a reason to get involved in a much more emotional way. She helped make this thing, and now seeing Eddie slowly see it’s just an abused child like himself, trying to save it, makes her help and see the good in Eddie in the process. This would also provide a very unique inner voice for Cletus, as it’s a high pitched childlike voice asking why it has to kill, and Cletus being the one to influence it. The host being more dominant than the symbiote, unlike Eddie which it’s the opposite.
Saw the movie yesterday And I gotta say that it's the most chaotic Romantic Comedy Action Horror film I've seen in EVER
