It is so funny how everyone’s perception of that one scene is anger because they think the capital did the painting of Rue rather than Peeta. His moment of defiance gets misconstrued every time 😭😭

The difference between Gale and Peeta is that Peeta never pressured her, but Gale is always trying to pressure her into being in a relationship. He always wanted more from her than she was willing to give

50:00 Book fact: Katniss is one of very few people in District 12 who knows how to swim, her dad was a descendant of a traveling troupe who knew of a lake outside of the District limits and Katniss grew up spending time there with her father. But nearly everyone else in 12 has never swam. It was clearly meant to ensure she died and the Capitol darling, Finnick, had the best chance of winning.

the three finger salute is native to District 12, which is why nobody in the reaping crowd was punished. But when other districts do that salute, its seen as the districts unifying which is very much against the rules.

This movie did a good job of showing how, even after the Hunger Games, the victors aren't truly victors. They are now owned by the Capitol, go out, paraded out to the world, play their games, attend their parties, etc etc. People like Haymitch, Finnick, and Johanna are all owned by the Capitol. They may have survived the games, but Snow still owns their body and soul. It is made even clearer by the Quarter Quell, how their short-lived relief from having won and returning to their family is taken away by a simple decision to change the rules of the game. Suzanne Collins did an amazing job at portraying a maniacal dystopian regime.

This film is ***THE BEST*** out of the franchise. I have vivid memories of seeing it in the theatre, and remember the audiences reactions to the shots, scores, visuals, acting and storylines. It just nailed every part of what I expected from a franchise. I remember being like 😲 throughout the film. Goosebumps and neck chills. Sending love to Andrew and his Family. ❤
