Entitlement Demands: Requests for Free $350K, Luxury Goods, and Discounted Services

Uncover outrageous examples of entitlement spanning massive cash requests, refusal of free items based on color, and demands for deeply discounted professional services. Readers will learn to recognize extreme consumer and donor entitlement in modern charity and exchange.

Short Summary

  • Identify patterns where individuals demand high-value goods or services for free, often while receiving existing charity or subsidized offers.
  • Review incidents involving large financial asks ($350k for a house) contrasted with petty grievances over free items (sofa color).
  • Understand how entitlements extend into professional exchanges, such as requests for free childcare or photography based on shared affiliations. This segment showcases modern entitlement in social giving, commodity exchange, and service industries through real-world community submissions.

6:55 fun fact, monopoly (the game) was actually created by a socialist woman to show that the only way to "win" in capitalism was by, essentially, depriving everyone around you of the same riches. It then got bought by hasbro and became the highest grossing board game *ever*, crazy stuff!

I participated in a toy drive in high school. The girl that my group was assigned to got so many toys (and even one or two duplicates, as we all got the same list for her). She looked to her mom and said "Look at all these presents, Mom!" I looked to her mom, and she was flabbergasted. She looked close to tears. It's a feel good Christmas memory of mine.

The Monopoly game experiment is horrible, The experiment basically proved that being rich causes people to feel less empathy for others and feel not only entitlement but also a sense of superiority and excellence where there is none. How many times have we seen a millionaire or billionaire who is absolutely stupid, ignorant and immature who only got where he is because of opportunities with a wealthy family or inherited family wealth?
