Having to log in 15 minutes a day means you give them an hour and fifteen minutes of free work a week. That's 5 hours a month. That adds up.

Last boss especially reminds me of mine. He thinks everyone is a blithering idiot. He's told me "don't touch the computers!" Okay... Last week, I was on a press, parts were HOT, like thousands were needed NOW. Computer screws up, as they do. We call him. He calls maintenance, I don't know why. He calls IT, he calls everyone! I stood there and looked. He snapped, "don't touch anything! Let the smart people fix it." So we waited. Everyone was trying to figure out wtf is wrong. Clock is ticking and the plant manager is crawling up my boss's ass, wondering what's taking so long. We've been sitting around for 7 hours of our 8. Plant manager calls his boss and they both come over to rail my boss. Big bosses ask: Does anyone know how to fix this? I raised my hand. I plugged the cord back in and the computer magically started booting back up. Boss is glaring at me. Screamed at me for not fixing it. So I got to tell his bosses that he told me not to touch anything, and I had witnesses. It was glorious! I seriously needed a cigarette afterward.

Story 3: We Brits don't use Cents. We use Pence and pannies. Also, the term "Bucks" is a dollar term; we use "Quid"

I'm 99.99% certain that withholding ALREADY EARNED paid sick and vacation time is ILLEGAL.

First Story: It was all fun and games until this new manager had to keep dealing with escalation calls just to tell them what OP already told them. No one wants to deal with people who can’t take no for an answer and think asking for a manager will change the answer to yes

Story 3: uses British currency, very clearly states “Pence” multiple times. rSlash: I’m gonna pretend I didn’t see that! Seriously, dude, why are you so insistent on using ‘cent’ and other American slang terms for money like 'buck' for every currency even when the story itself shows you the correct terminology? For future reference, mind, if you don't want to say 'pound(s)', the GBP is colloquially called 'quid' (plural and singular), so in this instance it would be '30 quid' or '2 and a half quid'.

4th story: I used to work at a call center for an ISP. We were just one of the several call centers taking calls. After working there for two months, one evening when I had the late shift, they announced that they were looking for volunteers to stay longer and clear out the call queue. I was like "No thanks" and left when my time ended. I finished the last call I had, of course. This happened some other evenings too. Then one day when I got to work, I was pulled aside by my manager and asked why I just left the day before (when I had the late shift again). I told him that I was scheduled to work to 7 pm, so I did. He told me that I need to stay and clear the queue, and I responded that during the months I had worked there it had never been a rule. Nor were we informed that such a rule existed when we got hired. Nor is it in our contracts. They had only ever asked for volunteers, not demanded we stay. The next day they announced that there was a new rule. Now, if you worked the late shift, you HAD to stay and clear the queue. But when I did so, and started logging my hours accordingly, I was again pulled aside by a manager. It seems management was unhappy with me logging the actual working hours I was doing. Instead of just listing that I stopped working at 7 pm. I pointed out to them that this might be an international company, but we're in Sweden. We have excellent protections for workers here. It is incredibly illegal for them to even suggest that I shouldn't be logging my overtime. After that they stopped giving me the late shift. LOL.

For start 2, I will never understand management who actively punish the one person that's making them the most money and the legally cannot hold sick./vacation time.Well, at least in the area that I live in.Don't know where o p lives , though
