The first story with the crazy family believing in Santa (or St. Nick in their case) sounds like a great plot for a Christmas horror movie. Tagline could be: he sees you when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awake. He knows if you have been bad or good. So be good...if you want to live
It sounds more like this family is trying to keep Krampus away than Santa
Yeah I've heard the first one. The problem isn't that the family believes in a particular saint (Saint Nicholas) in a way that differs from mainstream understanding of the commercial Santa Claus. The problem is their use of religious belief to control the in-group (the family) and alienate themselves from outsiders.
“His name is Saint Nicholas and he only eats his dinner here.” That would be the exact moment where I walk out the door, get in my car and drive away. Just…nope. Not dealing with this “Get Out” bullshit.
One of the first red flags that OP completely blows by is that she was expected to serve dinner to Adam and the other men in his family.
Story 2: looks like OP is finding out exactly why her boyfriend is divorced...
Second Story: My boyfriend is a good guy but...already bad there, but he treats me like a maid and doesn't consider my needs, after getting me to move in with lies and deception. Such a good guy
Second story. Girl, you got swindled. He never wanted you to move in to free up your time. He wanted you to move in to free up *his* time. He isn't a good father if he's leaving all the parent responsibilities to you. He isn't a good partner if he's putting you to work while he sits on his ass all day. Dump him and move on. Edit: Yay! She dumped him and moved on!
Story 1: The second he squeezed my hand and yelled at me calling me disrespectful, I would have taken my hand back and left that place.
Boyfriend story; A "good guy" doesn't spend 6-8 hours palying video games while you're doing all the work around the house. Love is for losers, you need a real man who can deal with adult responsibility. This realtionship is unrecoverable.
