Gotta say rslash is way off about the fourth story, it's not about the kids it's about the danger his partner would be in if people knew they were trans.

Most people wouldn't care about whether or not the kids are adopted, but some people REALLY care if a person is trans. It could get the husband killed if the wrong person found out.

My wife and I literally had to abandon our entire life and leave behind our family, friends because of how dangerously transphobic Florida is. We faced daily harrassment and discrimination, both by people and the state itself. I can completely understand why that family has to be so cautious.

While people generally don't care, if there's a risk that it could out OPs husband there's a real risk of a violent negative reaction- either directly to op's husband, or false reports to CPS just because he's transgender. I've seen it happen to a few people. It's why I dont tell people at my work anything about me- while MOST people don't care or notice things like that, the ones that DO tend to be... A lot.
