Story 1: Like…am I the weird one for thinking Op’s family just sound like a bunch of violent psychopaths…?

Story no 1 just sounds like the entire family has issues. Like it wasn’t revenge but it was assault learned from his family… kinda sad

Story 3: The moment I heard the part about Walter being a WWII veteran, I went ”uh-oh”. Because let’s face it, the ones who fought against Hitler are people you do NOT want to mess with!

Story 1: Okay so I'm not sure if I was following, but the great-grandmother, Mamadelia, was a serial abuser, and Jose was the only one to be rebellious against her. Then, Jose defended her by beating up the neighbour's son who was shouting insults at her? Why on earth would he defend someone who abused him to such a degree that he would sustain bruises that lasted weeks?

Story 1: You'd think that the Uncle wouldn't have given a damn about his abusive mother constantly being insulted by Ruben after everything that she's put him through. I swear, this is one of those cases where all of those stupid "family helps family, no matter what" cliches need to die.

Story 1: So angry granny causes Jose to be emotionally unstable, violent, and resentful, and Reuben to be angry, hateful and dismissive, and because Reuben takes it out on granny, Jose takes it out on Reuben? And granny doesn't feel remorse nor thankful?

Last Story: Damn, who would’ve guessed that trying to steal a pizza would result in a drug bust, getting bailed out, and then right back go jail by trashing a store lmao

3rd story reminds me of how the word 'boycott' earned its meaning. Lord Boycott was notorious for not paying for services/consumables, paying his minions. In a joint effort all the folks started ignoring him to such a degree that after a short time he was basically frozen out of the community, and one day just up and left.

Story 1: Mamdelia was abusive and everyone let her be. José didn't stand for her abuse and it made him worse. I know families like this, mine is like this. Instead of ending the cycle of trauma and abuse, they continue it because they're afraid of the person who started the cycle. Mamdelia ruined her family for generations to come. Jose was only rebellious because he didn't want to be abused no more. Someone who still cared for his mother but not for her actions. He beat tf out of Ruben and she still saw him as nothing? Horrible woman that gets talked about like she was a saint. Mamdelia is probably looking up at her family now.

I really find it absolutely disgusting that "family is everything" so often only goes one way. Namely, in favour of bad people. Because somehow it didn't apply when mama-monster wanted to inflict grievous bodily harm on her own family.
