Since then, an alleged perpetrator has been arrested, and the probable cause affidavit that walks through how law enforcement ties the defendant to the murders has been unsealed. Today I go over the key points from the probable cause affidavit and how the surviving roommate's description was a huge break for police. Because the internet is the internet, we are also talking about a shocking defamation lawsuit that stems from TikTok accusations that a professor at the University Of Idaho, Rebecca Schofield, is responsible for the murders. It’s wild stuff. This morning Ashley Banfield on News Nation interviewed a woman whose roommate was killed when she was in college. She talked about what it was like to have seen the murder scene and it didn't occur to her that there was blood all over until the paramedic pointed it out. Your brain will do funny things to protect your emotions when you are in horrible situations.

I always thought I could take care of myself. Took defense classes, had my ex-LEO-husband train with me, felt quite confident in what I would do if presented with someone trying to harm me. However ... when confronted with a surprising situation that was potentially harmful, I simply dropped the bag I was carrying, put my hands over my face and tried to scream. Miss-Confident-and-Very-Prepared completely froze, couldn't move and the scream wouldn't even come out. So ... there's that. No one knows how they'll react and you can think you know all you want, but you 100% don't. Until it happens to you. THEN you will know how YOU react, not how that applies to anyone else.

I’ve seen some people say DM “isn’t a victim”…. Like hello??? Her house was broken into and four of her roommates (friends!!) were brutally murdered. Of course she’s a victim…people have been so awful about it though.

Can you imagine the guilt that survivor feels? People need to be kind to her and not accusatory

Another example of TikTok being an absolute blight on society, I hope the poor professor gets justice and doesn't suffer any lasting negative consequences due to a clout chaser who thinks they are untouchable.

No offence. As former roommate, I did NOT interact with my roommates. Minimal contact, if needed. I kept noise canceling earphones in or played youtube 24/7. People cried over relationships, fought with friends and partners or had parties. I did NOT engage or involve myself. This isn't an American teen movie. A lot of people are going through their own stuff in post secondary and people are NOT trying to get involved with one another, in fact a lot of roommates have beef. Everyone is trying to respect the little privacy these multiple roommate households have. Most houses are owned by one person and the residents have contracts spanning from 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and a year. Sometimes people are new roommates or people leave and you have no clue. People clearly haven't had this experience, based off the attacks on this girl. She was nice to open her door. I can't even imagine doing that. I'd lock my door and put my earphones in. People think they'd do better, insane. All these people who probably live alone or with their parents

It's common knowledge that college students generally have many different people in their home or dorm. There are study groups and relationships that develop. I don't think the witness did anything wrong. And I definitely have compassion for the survivors guilt that individual feels.

The fact that the tiktok woman had her account banned and created a new one and just kept right on going with her misinformation is wild.
