I've had one instance of road trouble. I was driving a rental, it was around 1am, in the middle of nowhere on a desolate road between CA and AZ. Roadside assistance from the rental company said it'd be a few hours. I didn't know how to change a tire, let alone a tire on a car I've only had a few hours. After several cars just flew by, a truck with Mexican workers stopped. I was understandably nervous, but they helped me anyway. They changed the tire, waited until I called AAA to cancel, and followed me until I was out of the desert. They were still in construction gear, probably at the end of a long day -- they didn't have to do that, and they did.
Where is the rest of the story
omf this happened to me too one time and I was injured I was baffled at how many ppl do not give a fuuuck😭
The wheel of my car fell off once. I was a poor college student and had been noticing something was up with my car, but wasn't sure what. I thought maybe the alignment was off because my steering wheel was tilting slightly while driving straight. Finally made an appointment to get it checked. But while driving on grooved road, I realized my wheel was suddenly way off, practically 90 degrees. The car was also shaking more than just from the roadwork. My roommate demanded I pull over, which I planned to at the next possible pull off which happened to be a church. We barely hot off the road when we stopped. In my head, I though "I can change a flat, it's fine", but the tire wasn't flat, it was half out of the wheel well, crushed beneath the fender. While we waited for a tow truck, I was thinking glumly that at least it was a sunny, mid-week afternoon and that we weren't partially obstructing the church parking lot on a Sunday morning. That's when someone pulled up and rolled down their window. I thought they were a friendly face wanting to check on a couple of stranded motorists. Perhaps offer support in some way. Nope! They asked what we thought we were doing blocking the church driveway and demanded we move our vehicle. Even after explaining that a tow truck was inbound and how impossible it would be for us to comply as a wheel literally fell off the car, the man was not moved by our plight. He just insisted the car be removed asap, as if we were willfully loitering to spite the church the drove into the parking area. Note as well, he and the tow truck were the only ones that ever needed to pass us so we were not some major inconvenience to an event or service.
Why did the girl in the hat make a face when she heard the word “immigrantsl
In the UK back in the 80s, women were going missing on Motorways/main roads due to a killer. Apparently, he was making out his car was broken down in a layby or preying on those who had. Sadly, this is why women don’t stop to help.
WHAT IS THE TOP COMMENT?!
This reminds me of this time last year when a lovely young man named Felipe needed help starting his car when it stalled in front of my apartment. I, being a young woman who lives alone, was initially hesitant but quickly checked myself and pulled over to ask if he needed help. We jumped his car and he gave me his phone number saying to call me if I ever needed anything. I kept it just in case, I hope he’s doing well ❤
Yeah probably because most people maybe know how to jack up a car now
