Anton, last summer I saw my neighbor talking to her dog as if it could understand her. I went inside my house and told my cat and we both laughed really hard.

My black cat Stanley would meet me at my car after pulled into the driveway. He always meowed at me. One time he jumped in my lap even before I got out of the car. He meowed incessantly at me. Smelled my shirt. Brushed the top of his head against my chin. I got out of the car. I walked to his MeowMix cat food and opene bag. I poured him the dry kibble. Yes. He trained me well. I miss him. It’s been 20 years now. Black with a tiny tuft of white hair on the inside of his right hind leg. He would bite me if i touched the white tuft. Rest easy my boy.

"What is my purpose?" "You hunt pests and eat leftovers and occasionnally cuddles." "Good enough."

I have been re-domesticating an abused cat that found her way to the local shelter after 15 years. She's completely psychotic and a combination of meds, kindness and comfort are bringing her back. I want her happy in the twighlight of her hard life.

My cat just passed away a couple of weeks ago. He was 24 years old, and very spry up until about 6 months ago. He was a stray kitten, adopted by my adult son, who also passed about 12 years ago. When he passed, the cat came to us and lived another 12 happy years. RIP to them both. I like to believe the Rainbow Bridge poem.

I have never adopted a cat in my life. However, half a dozen have adopted me. The latest one showed up on my porch one day, took a look around, and decided the setup was satisfactory. I had little to no say in the process.
