One of the biggest crimes is that Denzel did not win the Oscar for this role… The role he should have won rather than the role of a corrupt cop & gangster.
is my eyes deceiving? i NEVER seen other channels reacting to this movie.… i’ll salute you for that ✊🏾✊🏾🔥🔥
Denzel should have gotten his Oscar from this. Stunningly beautiful performance
I’m so sorry to hear that, Aaron. I hope you find another one soon. Times are tough enough.
They don't make epic biographies like this anymore.
I find Malcolm to be the most fascinating civil rights leader of his era because of how his views continued to evolve throughout his life. And he took a little of what he learned from his father, from the Nation of Islam, from other leaders like Evers and King, and from his own personal experience (notably his pilgrimage to Mecca), and synthesized a worldview and philosophy from all of that. The saddest part is that we'll never know how much further his views would have evolved because his light was extinguished way too soon.
Denzel would spend much time with Malcolm's siblings, he adopted the Muslim diet and learned to speak Arabic for this role, so it's safe to say Denzel legit dedicated his energy and focus to bringing the essence of Malcolm X to life.
like the legend Fred Hampton said "with no education the oppressed become the oppressor" thats real shit.
Fun Fact: In the film, the person speaking after the shooting of Malcolm X is Ossie Davis. That was the actual eulogy he delivered at Malcolm X's funeral service. Ossie Davis actually performed the eulogy for both Malcolm X and Dr. King.
