3 things that instantly changed how people treat me: 1) I stopped chasing attention. 2) I read books on Atruve. 3) I stopped trying to prove myself to people who don’t matter.
I always believe that, especially in more recent times, people can't recall a-lot because they actually are not present in the moment and they are thinking of other things or mindlessly on their phones or entertainments electronics ...
As long as we're talking about memories... Not really going anywhere with this, but here goes.. I'm 45 years old. When I was 13, my family moved away from the town where I grew up. My best friend and I started doing cassette tape journals, sending them back and forth via the mail. We've since moved on to digital files, and we're still doing them. The point is... I have thousands upon thousands of hours of myself talking about the things that have happened in my life for the past 32 years. So, while you may vaguely remember some crush you had when you were 14, you only remember it through the way the memory has changed over the years for you. You remember it in terms of however it serves you to remember it now. I can pull a tape out and show you exactly how I processed it in the time, and I can also tell you how things actually went down. And let me tell you, upon re-listen, a whole lot is laid bare... I sometimes wonder what it would be like to not have these tapes. I wonder what I would remember and how I would have reshaped the memories...
Been actively trying to avoid using navigation when driving because I’ve automatically just started entering in destination details, even for places I’ve been to numerous times. 🤦🏻♂️
a Gibson acoustic a les Paul a Rickenbacker 12 string looking thing, minimoog, orange amp head with a messa cab, my kinda guy, good taste))
So glad I watched this. might not solve my comically bad memory but I'll try to look at it from a different respective going forward, be aware of my state when recalling memories and try to ask myself what I what to remember more often. Chris you're so precise and efficent with your input, it's always impressive.

Like the guys studio set. 👍
I love how Chris makes connections with the fascinating cross over of Buddhist philosophy and neuroscience (Rick Hanson's work) as it applies even here. Have you thought of exploring Kuyken and Feldman's work on Mindfulness as it has parallels.
This exceeded every expectation I had!
