Our bodies tightly regulate the amount of sugar in our blood at any given time. If you have prediabetes, that number rises to 1.5 teaspoons. With diabetes, the blood contains 2 teaspoons of sugar. The average person consumes between 50 and 100 teaspoons of sugar every day. Insulin removes the sugar from your blood and converts it to fat or stored sugar in the liver and muscles. The body only needs a tiny amount of sugar (which the liver can make on its own), so we don’t actually need to consume any sugar at all. Chronic excessive sugar consumption can lead to the development of insulin resistance, which is at the root of many chronic diseases. Improve blood sugar control by avoiding these common mistakes when testing your blood sugar. 1. Not washing your hands 2. Using alcohol wipes incorrectly 3. Using expired strips 4. Hot sauna or cold plunge before testing 5. Tylenol usage 6. Taking vitamin C and other supplements 7. Squeezing fingers 8. Using different fingers 9. Using continuous glucose monitors 10. Testing at high altitudes 11. Drinking coffee 12. Checking glucose in the morning 13. Dehydration An A1C test measures the average blood sugar over a period of 3 months. Several factors, including ethnicity, anemia, and diet, can affect these results. The liver is at the root of the problem when it comes to type 2 diabetes. Fortunately, a low-carb diet with intermittent fasting can quickly eliminate liver fat and correct insulin resistance and diabetes. To further support healthy blood sugar levels, try the following: •Consistent exercise •Apple cider vinegar diluted in water before meals •Morning walks •Berberine •Get plenty of sleep •Reduce stress levels •Increase sunlight exposure DATA: https://www.virtahealth.com/blog/the-science-of-diabetes-reversal-virta-clinical-results https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20210302005969/en/Virta-Healths-Reversal-Treatment-Prevents-Progression-to-Type-2-Diabetes-in-97-of-Prediabetes-Patients-New-Research-Shows https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/endocrinology/articles/10.3389/fendo.2019.00348/full https://cardiab.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12933-018-0698-8 https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/journal-of-nutritional-science/article/restricting-carbohydrates-and-calories-in-the-treatment-of-type-2-diabetes-a-systematic-review-of-the-effectiveness-of-lowcarbohydrate-interventions-with-differing-energy-levels/F631DA4596BBAF5E470B98CC92D653FE https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/11/4/766 Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. I changed my lifestyle 5 years ago because of this guy. The improvements in things are too numerous to post without writing a novel. When I started I read labels for the first time and discovered my daily sugar intake was 350-400 grams per day, every day. If you haven't done this I would recommend it. Not going to lie, the withdrawals nearly beat me but I toughed it out.

As a homicide detective for many years, I’ve seen countless cases where a “sudden collapse” was actually years of silent damage from poor blood sugar control. Your breakdown makes it crystal clear how these small daily mistakes add up to life-changing consequences. Thank you for turning complex medical risk into something people can finally understand—and act on. Videos like this truly save lives.

I was 240lbs pre diabetes, fatty liver, all kinds of aging issues at 56. I started watching Dr berg and a few others on fasting and keto diets. I started my journey in January and now I’m 180lbs in less than a year. All my issues disappeared. I sleep like a baby and have more energy than I’ve had in years. I’m still learning and always trying to improve. This is a lifestyle I can stick with and actually really enjoy. I enjoy how I feel fasting and enjoy those meals even more when I eat. Thanks Doc👊

My 86 yr old mom was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and no surprise, no dr or nurse is even willing to give her any advice on her diet. Thank goodness for Dr. Berg, I knew exactly what to do.

The insight that 80% of a diabetic's blood sugar can be liver-generated, not purely dietary, is a profound paradigm shift. It underscores how conventional treatments often miss the core metabolic dysfunction by solely focusing on external sugar intake. A truly vital perspective.

A friend of mine said if you wait until 1 or 2pm to eat, you can get by on 1 meal a day.
