You're like the wind, different direction every day....
I’m going to do a protein-modified fast for 2 days, then a sardine fast for 1 day, followed by a prolonged 36–48 hour fast. After that, I’ll go back to a sardine fast for 2 days, then transition into a 16:8 intermittent fasting routine. I’ve done all of these individually before, so this time I’m combining them to see how I go. 😁
I love that you are doing videos on fasting beyond 24-48 hours. I did a 7-day (168 hour) fast around an umbilical hernia surgery (bubble in the abdominal wall just above the belly button) where I started fasting 2 days before the surgery and continued 5 days after. It really is all about the "crisis" (the 48 hour mark, usually) where your body fully "switches into ketone mode" (more complicated than that, but the general idea). Once you get past 60 hours, you don't really feel hunger or food cravings anymore. After that, it's all about how well you prepared and how much sodium you've been consuming in the last day or 2. Electrolyte balance can literally be "life and death" once you go past 40'ish hours into a water fast... but once you figure out how to eat a pinch of salt here and there throughout the day, it tends to be manageable. The mental and emotional benefits are BLISSFUL though! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Most of my 72 hour fasts end about 70 but I spend 48 hours bringing food back slowly.
30 hrs is my sweet spot.
The Monks knew this for a long time already 36 hour fast once a week like the sabbath
I'm going to watch the video of course, but the thumbnail made me immediately say "Another video about the same thing?" I'm sure there's more nuance, but just a first glance thing.
i noticed if i have to many carbs before trying to fast the fast is much harder from a mental perspective.
Thank you, I'm so glad you brought this up. I recently started doing 16hr fast and lost 14lbs and inches in 3.5wks. I know the weight will slow down, but i'm going to start doing exercising during my fast.
