Dune: Spice Girls
If you study ancient Egypt you will notice that they kept the same style (Art, building norms, language, gods... ) for more than 5000 years. the rapid change is a byproduct of our industrial revolution. I can buy they kept the same style for 10000 years after destroying computers.
a "Butlerian Jihad" would be so much more interesting than a "The Prophecy"
It would have been funny if they made it look like the 1984 Dune.
"There is no escape -- we pay for the violence of our ancestors." - from "The Collected Sayings of Muad'Dib" by the Princess Irulan
I think it looks like the film aesthetic so that general audiences will relate the two together more
Regarding stuff looking different… ain’t these like “eternal empires” there’s gonna be slight differences but nothing massively different… they are the same exact houses.
Read Dune, must be fifty-five years ago, but your videos rekindled my interest in the properties …. Thanks
Its funny how it looks instantly recognizable as an HBO series but with the DV asthetics. The crane shots are like straight up out of GoT
My approach: I'm happy about more Dune content - but I don't expect to be blown away... my expectation is to have fun watching it. For reference - I always assume any book-to-movie adaptations will be freely changed and interpreted and never expect a really close match, and that is fine with me.
