Being present is the greatest 🎁 you'll ever give yourself. I barely knew my daughter when she was two (job, side hustles, and ambition). Fast-forward 28 years: my granddaughter is now two, and I know every curl on her head. I am so lucky that I chose to do slightly less in retirement. Take it from the ghost of Christmas Future- learn to retire 5 minutes at a time while you're young. Beautiful gifts are waiting to be unwrapped, my friends. God bless you, Mel; you are doing great things. Merry Christmas!

I don’t think it’s about doing nothing but about taking the time to do the things you enjoy vs. the things you feel you have to do. If I go for a walk in nature or knit or do watercolor it’s still doing something, but it’s something that relieves stress rather than increasing it and gives me joy.

5 minutes - a moment in time we all have the capability to just sit, shut our phones and minds and house noise off, and Do Nothing. ❤✌️✨️

You are so right! Sometimes, the most powerful step you can take is a pause.

I have a bad habit of running around doing everything until I hit a wall and literally can't do anything. I then feel guilty that I have to rest. Always being busy is so stressful, I often catch myself holding my breathe. I hate it because although I'm so busy I never feel like I have time to do anything I actually enjoy. So thank you for this episode Mel, i guess i needed permission to take some time to just stop. My intention for 2024 is to slow down, take time to just do nothing, and decompress and also to make intentional time to do something I want even if it feels frilous. I have been wanting to start drawing and painting, just because it sounds fun! Cheers to you and everyone listening.

I so needed to hear this. I listened on my way home from work yesterday and this evening instead of doing my usual thing of watching TV I have picked up my crochet and been listening to a meditation audio and just letting my mind totally rest. It's been a rough few weeks and this feels incredibly healing. Thank you so much Mel. Your podcast is helping me so much in so many ways as I navigate a really difficult period in my life. Wish I'd found you sooner! Bless you for your honesty, your authenticity, and your devotion to helping others in any way you can. I appreciate you so much 🙏❤️😘
