I just ate broccoli last night for the first time in about a year. Did strict carnivore from August 24 to Jan 25 then switched to keto cuz it works better for me. I could NOT sleep, my gut was gurgling and i was on the toilet all night long, restless legs after months of not having that, couldn't stop farting etc.. my wife came outta the bedroom at like 3am to see if i was ok as i was in the bathroom and i told her "I'm NEVER eating broccoli again babe!" Not a fun night and today really sucked after 2.5 hours of crap sleep! Don't do it people, it's simply not worth it!
As a little kid I hated vegetables. Later in life I forced myself to eat them because green was good right? Carnivore liberated me from that hell.
Spinach is the worst….highest oxalates along with almonds
I am on a carnivore diet But once in a while I tend to indulge with my cultural food, I'm from Nepal and every time I do even if I take like one bite I do not feel good for a day or a few days even. It's amazing. We are surrounded by so much toxicity that we have normalized this.
I am so pissed at the medical establishment. The advice they give is terrible. My gf had a blood test and the only thing they could find was slightly low b12. The advice she was given was eat plenty of green leafy plants. Wtf? B12 is the one nutrient even vegans admit they can't get from normal plant foods.
I can't even have discussions about this subject with anyone in my circle. When I say I eat mainly meat on most days, with eggs, butter and water, occasionaly cook my meat with bell peppers onions and some garlic because I just make goulash out of it for few days supply (I can't cook every day in my environment), people immediately take very aggressive stance against me, altough they CAN see the benefits it does to my body. But forget the body benefits. I have noticed that after a few months of doing this, my own social behavior has changed. I'm much more calm, not as irritable as I used to be, not as impulsive about my everyday work decisions. And I am not even very strict. I just increased my meat portions dramatically, and 9 out 10 days no carbs at all. I still do raw kefir, raw milk if I can, feta cheese, eggs, cook everything on butter. But if I tell this to people around me, they become irritated by it, dissmissive and actually condescending towards me. I learned not to defend my oositiin anymore, I don't even try to refer them to places like this just for them to hear an expert instead of me. I have a friend who steadfastly defends his wife's decision not to eat meat because of her having Crohn's disease diagnosis, saying she cannot handle meat, and she stuffs herself with tons of veggies. She goes periodically through some very difficult digestive pains, yet doctors told her its all "genetic", and because that sounds sophisticated, they both accept it with actual enthusiasm. Every problem they both have had lately is being blamed on their ancestoral genes (which then implies there's nothing they can do about it except for regulating it by some pharma drugs). Both these people have higher education, they are otherwise very smart, but still, you realize how dependent or influenced they've become on and by the propaganda. I even gave them kink to Dr. Chafee, Dr. Westmann for them to watch, and they outright dismissed it as snake oil salesman practices. And that's just one of the examples, so I totally restrain myself from talking to anyone about this subject anymore.
