You've made it this far. 4/5. You should finish the original series with Battle.
Please, please watch the last movie; it wraps up the story in a way that finally feels like a satisfactory ending to the series, and some things in it are echoed in the reboot series, which probably can't be fully appreciated without completing the first series. It's true that the production values deteriorate somewhat, but the story more than makes up for that. The Tim Burton version doesn't work, despite some occasional nice moments, and is worth seeing for comparison only, if at all.
Please don't stop now! You need the complete experience that those of us growing up watching these movies got. You're almost to the finish line, and I think you will be glad you watched them all. It is not even the worst of them.
Watch the next one it will answer some of your questions, it changes the trajectory of the future.
Battle for the Planet of the Apes answers many of your questions. Would you walk out on the last half hour of Marvels End Game? After seeing every MCU movie up until then?
Please watch Battle for the Planet of the Apes. It will answer all of the questions you asked after this one. Donโt quit now with one to go! I cannot even believe you are considering skipping it.
A shame. It is literally the last movie that provides both the answers to your questions and the closure to all the plot lines.
I join the chorus of people telling you not to skip the final film. It will add a lot to your understanding of the original series overall, and it will have a lot of themes and moments that will be paralleled in the remakes (particularly Dawn of the Planet of the Apes).
It always takes my breath away when I see Ceasars reaction after the death of Armando. His pain was so evident yet he had to control it.
The last one is the only one that ends their arc in peace.
