Hi Cassie, just wanted to say that my daughter used to love your videos and would try to get me to watch along with her. It was never really my thing but ever since she passed away I find myself watching and use it as a connection to my girl. Silly perhaps but just wanted to say thanks for bringing my daughter a lot of joy and entertainment
Peter Postlethwaite was an amazing actor. Just such a lovely performance in this.
This is such an underrated movie, and Daniel Day Lewis and Pete Postlethwaite are amazing in it. It’s a true story as well.

Daniel Day-Lewis doesn't merely portray characters. He becomes them.
The day of their release was huge in Ireland. The image of an enraged Gerry in his shirt was burned forever into my mind. The BBC gave it some coverage too as most people in Britain had figured out that these men ( and the Birmingham 6 ) were falsely imprisoned. The film absolutely made my blood boil.
Saw this film when it came out in 1993 and it inspired me to take a course in Irish history the following year. Ireland is such a small country (both geographically and population-wise) but has played such an enormous role in world history.

“I’m an innocent man, I’m going out th front door!” I love that line.
I remember seeing Gerry Conlon at a book signing, not long after he was released. I was just a kid who knew nothing about why or anything his family endured. Watching this, it brings back memories
