I have so many little things but about two years after my mom passed my dad sent me a video of my mom where she is telling me to have a good day and now I can listen to that and hear her voice even though she isn’t physical here.
I have my sweet, protective angel pitbulls dog tags on a bracelet I never take off. She was the only living thing on this planet I ever met who would have given her life for me. Having a remembrance of her that I can see and/or feel at any time helps on high anxiety and difficult days. She was amazing and with her I knew I was always loved and looked after.
I'm 62 , and love wearing my mother's old fashioned nightie to bed after a shower , with my favorite perfume , it makes me feel like she's hugging me 🩷
Your son’s story reminds me so much of my daughter’s (who is now 31). She was given a teddy bear by some of my friends at a baby shower before she was even born. She eventually named it Emily. She went into the hospital several times and needed surgery when she was 3 yrs old. Emily went with her and even got her own hospital ID wristband. When she was a teen she made clothes for Emily. She still has her to this day. ❤️
Mel, The part where your son is talking about his blankie and teddie it made me tear up. Thank you also for sharing your items you take with you on the road. That was motivating. I was touched that you value the items the people from your conferences gave you and it reminds you that you really are touching lives and you are making a difference. I love that you value the items and the stories and the people behind them and it’s not like you just have an empty fan base and you profit off the people by them buying merch and you don’t care like many celebrities but instead you have a very intentional mission and you intentionally connect with the people that open up with you at your conferences and you see the humans and you really care. That really touched me that you take those moments with you and remind yourself of the power of the work you are doing. You are touching hearts and helping people grow and transform there lives and giving hope and helping people not give up
The I love you part at the end made me cry. Not everyone gets to hear that often so it touched my soul 😔
Your son Oakley is an amazing person; his self assurance is inspirational. He’s articulate & wise beyond his years. ⭐️
I have never seen a bad episode of the Mel Robbins podcast. I am grateful for your learning journey and appreciate you sharing it with us.
I have worked in an Alzheimer's unit for years and one of the things that we ask family to do is put together a box or a couple things that comforts their loved one. When the loved one is stressed out and agitated, this item is then used something to calm them down something that they love. When the person with Alzheimer forget who people are and everything else, that object provides comfort. The only problem is not all family members know what that object of comfort is.
Whenever I am really down. Like I don’t want to get out of bed. I just want to eat a tonne of chocolate and lie here and feel sorry for myself. I listen to Mel. And I get up and I do something. Thank you Mel xxx
