Nearly half of all Americans have high blood pressure. Around 90% is considered essential hypertension, which means the cause is unknown. It's often recommended to reduce sodium intake to reduce blood pressure, but that’s only a piece of the puzzle. Research has shown that people with the highest sodium and lowest potassium ratio have the highest risk of heart attacks. The problem is the ratio, not necessarily sodium consumption. Most people in the US are consuming far more sodium than potassium. Potassium helps to reduce blood pressure naturally by relaxing blood vessels, lowering adrenaline, protecting the inside of the arteries, and supporting insulin sensitivity. Diuretics are commonly prescribed for high blood pressure and work by flushing excess fluid from the body. This leads to potassium loss and electrolyte imbalance, which contributes to hypertension. Potassium supplements often come in 99 mg doses, which is far below the 4700 mg daily requirement. Faulty studies were the basis of determining this tiny dosage. Along with potassium, adequate magnesium is vital to reduce blood pressure naturally. A lot of people get Anxiety at the Doctors Office so their blood pressure reads higher than it really is. But the Doctors response is to just prescribe blood pressure medication based on one blood pressure reading.

Our BP machine told my wife she had an irregular heartbeat. Later in the hospital ER they verified it. Blood tests showed very low potassium levels. She felt much better after they gave her three bags of pot. The bags said pot on them. It was potassium but said pot!

At 75 I was pre-diabetic with high blood pressure. I followed your advice and went 'Keto'. Also started using a 'Lo Salt' we can get in the UK which is 33% Sodium Chloride and 66% Potassium Chloride. Then I added a couple of Magnesium Glycinate tablets in the evening. At 78 my blood pressure is down and I'm no longer pre-diabetic. Feeling better now than I did at 40, and I'm on no medication. Thank you for the advice - it works!
