The US now spends more on it's debt interest payments than on defense, it's wild.
So happy you brought him to this platform, ppl need to know what's going on/coming
Similarities: Both Ray Dalio and Neil Howe (co-author of The Fourth Turning) see history as cyclical, driven by recurring patterns of crisis and renewal. They agree that the U.S. is entering a turbulent phase marked by economic stress, social unrest, and institutional decay. Each anticipates a major societal reset in the 2020s–early 2030s. Differences: Dalio focuses on macroeconomic cycles—debt, monetary policy, and shifting world orders—drawing from centuries of financial history. Howe centers on generational archetypes and cultural rhythms over ~80–100 year cycles. Dalio is pragmatic and investor-oriented; Howe is sociological and historical. Dalio’s “Big Cycle” is global; Howe’s “Fourth Turning” is primarily American. Both foresee a storm.

Ray does such a great job of distilling a very complex topic down to an understandable format. His videos and his books are so informative.
Don’t think either Chris or Ray were on their A game with this one . Usually love both their work, yet Ray seemed to be showing signs of age here, a lot of rambling without clear points. Worth noting that I’ve read his work over the year, which is well communicated.
I was surprised at the amount of times i thought the audio had cut out as a sentence seemed unfinished or wihtout a clear point.
Great analysis. Need to review the Historial Materialism with DiaMat Systems Thinking 🤩
