The reason for the secrecy which has been questioned in these comments is that publicly traded companies have to be careful not to disclose price-sensitive information (e.g. volumes and customer data) outside of official channels so as to avoid distorting the markets i.e. by giving a small group of investors information that is not available to the wider investor community. In some cases this could lead to insider trading.

I'm an engineer for the company that makes those liquid chromatography machines, It's always a nice surprise to see them pop up in the background of videos! For anyone curious the background 'click clack' noise is the sound of pistons being driven back and fourth in the pumps.

I'm so happy that you're doing these 3 episodes on decaf! As a decaf drinker, it can be hard to enjoy and explore specialty coffee -- even when it is available, often the decaf coffee is just an afterthought, without the same care and attention to tasting.

3:27 This is the part that's always seemed mysterious to me. "How do you decaffeinate coffee?" "Well, we make GCE, then we decaffeinate the GCE, then we use that to absorb caffeine from coffee." Yeah, but how do they decaffeinate the GCE? It's like they're just kicking the can down the road. It can't be simply that activated carbon automatically removes caffeine without removing anything else. I guess "a proprietary process" just means "trade secret, we're not telling."
