Story 2: All of this could have been avoided if the doctor put his assumptions and mentality aside, actually considered OP's words, and brought the EEG machine immediately. Like imagine implicitly being called a drug addict because you dyed your hair, that's dumb!
story 2: my brother (22) had a seizure while driving on the way to his job as a pizza delivery guy. luckily, he was able to slow the car down so it was totaled but he was mostly unharmed. when we got to the hospital, the doctors were CONVINCED that he was on drugs. they wouldn’t listen to a word we said when we explained that our family is very open and we know exactly what he uses (delta8, occasionally- nothing else) and that he’d never do drugs right before work, especially if his job is DRIVING. it didn’t matter what we said, the doctors were CONVINCED that this sweet kid was some secret fent addict. it took them TWO DAYS of tests the ER before they finally concluded that yes, he had a seizure. which we knew. i’ve never been more angry
As a neurologist, this breaks my heart. We would have never let this happen in my hospital
As someone with chickens, who loves my chickens. Fences make good neighbors. Protect your birds
Story 2: This is the sort of revenge i live for - massive, expensive, career ending and public.
The doctor in story 2 broke almost every rule of caregiving. The first being that he judged his patient as less than somehow.
Story 2: I would never wish homelessness on another individual...but for that worthless 'doctor', I'll make an exception. What pissed me off even more is that, when he was proven wrong, he instead doubled down and said, 'ThIs DoEsN't TeSt AlL dRuGs'. Pathetic.
Clearly the aunt never saw "John Wick".
Dogs - not surprised. The first dog was sadly handled legally. The second dog and threats… the only surprise is that the house was unoccupied. Also while I don’t live rurally, this is why I will probably never let my dogs out unattended.
Story 2: Dr. Thoreau...A.K.A. the most idiotic dude that was informed of the epilepsy but decided to believe that because someone had pink hair they MUST be on drugs
