Several times in my life I ate too little protein and suffered hair loss. It was like a seasonal shed that never stopped. At one point my straight hair grew in curly. I have come to the conclusion that even the seasonal sheds I used to have were related to seasons when I ate more vegetables and fruit and less meat. So my primary concern is making sure I get enough animal protein.
I grew more hair eating Keto. Its been two years and I am feeling better than I have ever felt.
In my late 20s my hair started thinning and became very brittle. Would not grow past my shoulders anymore. Was like that until I was about 42. Then finally a doc wanted to check my thyroid. My TSH was around 7. He prescribed Armour thyroid, which brought my TSH down to around 1.5, I felt better and had more energy but my hair still didn’t grow any better. When I was about 52 I got the Food Inflammation Test and vitamin level test. I was super low in vitamin D. My hair finally started growing and now I have healthy long hair. Haven’t had hair like this since I was a teenager.
I lost a ton of hair after about three months (keto carnivore). My signature look was a gigantic head of curly hair. It was certainly something to get used too.😳 Now 8 months in my I have cut off the flimsy rest of my “old” hair and it has grown back SO thick, it’s incredible. Yay!😃

I did a keto cruise about 6 years ago...Since I was adapted, I just didn't want to cheat. Had lots of great meats. Keep up the great content! (I did have some red wine though)
