Ohhh I absolutely want to see James do the "Mythbusters" method on the Breaking Bad Brewer. 1. Why doesn't it work. 2. What would it take to make it work. 3. What's the most ridiculous coffee siphon you can make/make it so that the Breaking Bad Brewer actually works

Yes, you need to talk about it.

As a science teacher, I used to take one into class, make myself a coffee, and ask my class to explain how it worked. Kept them usefully busy while I drank the coffee. I've been using them regularly for 25 or more years, and I have a sizeable collection of vintage Conas as well as Sintrax and Hellem.

1:08 better than just talking about Breaking Bad, you should look at a bunch of coffee making scenes in movies/tv shows and examine how wildly inaccurate their coffee making is!

We need James to do a full Breaking Bad coffee breakdown. With props, costumes and a bald cap.

ABSOLUTELY! James, do a series on Rube Goldberg brewers that make palatable coffee and then rank them. People, send James some insane builds!

Hello from Japan🇯🇵 My grandpa (90 years old) used to brew coffee with this thing when my mom was a child- that old hario siphon brewer is STILL alive!! The rubber part with the top chamber was deteriorated over time and it had to be replaced, but surprisingly hario still sells the exact same part!! I bought it online and a perfectly fitted with the brewer. Paper filter which is much easier to maintain than the cloth filter is also available in online store. It is the real classic brewer in Japan☺️

over 21 minutes of James Hoffmann and not one slurp, I'm devastated. Seeing a review of pop culture coffee 'devices' could be fun

My first siphon coffee was by chance in Tokyo at a ma and pa cafe in the back streets near my hotel, it was an old cafe with the owners being in their 60s, walking through the door felt like I had stepped back in time with no coffee machine in site just a line of siphons on the bench. I reluctantly ordered a coffee expecting in my mind to get a watery weak percolated coffee.... boy I was wrong! it was a life changing experience and forever changed my relationship and love for coffee. Some say you never forget your first kiss, well i never forget my first siphon.
