Description

After listening to this episode, your brain won’t be the same. Today, you are going to learn the science behind manifestation and what steps you need to take to manifest your dream life. In this episode, Mel sits down with Dr. Jim Doty. Dr. Doty was truly an extraordinary human being who lived an extraordinary life. He was a world-renowned Stanford neurosurgeon and neuroscientist, a New York Times bestselling author, a philanthropist, and the founder of the Stanford Center for Compassion and Altruism Research. He also served as the chairman of the Dalai Lama Foundation. Dr. Doty recently passed away, and this conversation – recorded before his death — is part of his legacy. It is one of the most shared, listened to, and beloved episodes in the history of the podcast. In it, he explains the science behind manifesting and visualization: why it works, what’s happening in your brain, and how to do it effectively. He also dives deep into the science behind creating the life you want, explains why your negative self-talk is holding you back, and how you can reprogram your brain using simple yet powerful tools rooted in neuroscience. Key takeaways: 1. Our purpose is to live with one another. Connect with people. 2. Live on a love mode. Remove yourself from a fear mode. 3. Use all sensory organs to embed thoughts to create your narrative of your story (change default negative mode network) 4. Tasks positive networks (salient-important to you) activates your attention 4. Not let negative self talk. Understand it’s how humans are wired. Become self-aware. Accept your shadows. Separate yourself from it. 5. Have compassion for yourself. 6. Understanding what you want from want you need. Chase purpose and meaning. 7. See the world with a lens of possibilities. Be appreciative. 8. Find a calm place. Shift from fear mode to heart mode. All of us deserve second chances. 9. Don’t be attached with the outcome. Be patient and grateful. 10. Create the right mindset by meditation. Breathing exercises. Write the things you are thankful for and the things you want to manifest. Be authentic. Be present.

I was in dublin recently walking around the city and it struck me how nobody acknowleged or even smiled it was like i didn't exist - for the next 10 mins or so i started to feel incredibly sad - And then out of the blue a light switch went off in my mind - that the negatve self talk was just a mirror of myself. It was me who was ignoring everyone and not smiling at anyone and they were just reflecting back to me myself. This enlightenment had me beaming into a big smile and have a bounce in my step - and guess what happens next? Someone smiled at me ❤

This conversation really shows how science and manifestation meet. What stood out to me was how much of our reality comes from the patterns we don’t even notice in our own mind. I just finished reading The Lost Laws of Manifestation and it lined up perfectly with what Dr. Doty explained, especially the part about how negative self-talk literally blocks your field. It feels like once you see these hidden laws, you can’t go back. 🌌

She saved him!!!! My father died when I was 11 my mother drank and basically I was on my own I got a job at a pizza place at 13 to help . I will never forget the owner of the pizza place Albert Rossi he fed me drove me home at night so I’d be safe, he was the only adult in my life at that time that cared about me “he saved me” I am forever grateful for him, most of all for God for putting him in my life. ❤❤

What I love about Mel Robbins is her insistence on getting the guest to be specific, to give examples, and to repeat important points for the audience. That’s something most interviewers don’t do. She also asks questions I’d ask, if I were there. That’s gold.
