It just keeps getting harder and harder for a young star to move out to the suburbs and start a solar system. Darn late stage entropy.
"The sun was super lucky". That seems to be a running theme with our solar system and planet. A series of fortunate events.
I felt weirdly sentimental about hearing the possible origin story of our sun
It’s so insane that we’re at a point where we can figure this out now
So if I am keeping track... •Sol formed near a Wolf-Rayet bubble yielding non standard stellar chemistry •Our Solar system does not have a group of similar planets in it's retinue like other systems who's planets we can see •All the weirdness with Luna and her relationship with Terra •Having two gas giants in the outer system rather than the inner •And now Sol was actually born in a galactic orbit thousands of light years from here and was flung into the position it is now. ... More and more the mediocracy principle seemingly does not apply to the Sol system.
Wow. It is so amazing that astronomy has advanced to the point where we can have solid theories with this level of detail. It's just wonderful!
The Sun having a nomadic past just like humans is really cool.
That is our sun with his graduating class . Migrating to their new homes
Big thanks to our star for escaping the inner city out to rural galactic communities
Fascinating. Now we have over 6,000 stars we should be looking at for signs of life.
