Blanket story, I'd put that on blast. I'd get in front and tell the family what happened before the son and DIL spin the story.

For story 1, seriously the sheer entitlement. Op honestly should have started charging them rent after a year.Because let's face it op were being taken advantage of.

Third Story, NTA: Imagine holding the kids hostage over a blanket. It's not that deep. Then to try to take a blanket from a still born baby

Story 1: NTA. Excuse me? Give them GRACE? They are living RENT FREE. The whole hosting part was definitely intentional, they "claim" the house just so they can turn the elderly parents away.

Last story: the term out of sight out of mind should not apply to your freaking kids. And they can’t give advice on something they chose not to know anything about. They also don’t get to be mad that they got called out on it. OP has no reason to apologize, and trying to send family to make excuses is actually just proving OP’s point, that they only care when it’s convenient and easy.

Story 1: Two years with no rent or taxes, where the money they were saving on OP and their parent’s dime? Also, they had two years of grades and they decided to disrespect two of the three people that gave it to them, that’s more than enough. Also, considering this was supposed to be temporary, how much longer were they planning on living in the house for free because they’ve been struggling?

For the blanket story they are definitely out of their minds for the way they handled it. Once the son heard she couldn't make the blankets anymore it could have been a great opportunity for the DIL and her daughter to ask the grandmother to teach them how to make the blanket. She instructs they make. Bonding and wholesome moments follow. Everyone hsppy.

"Put my fork down" probably applies to the fact that they were sitting down for dinner, so OP is saying she stopped eating altogether to tell them off. Instead of telling them off between bites.

last story: "i know they love me" DO THEY?! DO THEY NOW!? after abandoning you and not helping you when you needed them the most you still have the nerve to say "i know the love me" when they proven they havent? the only reason they "care" about you now is because your at home and they have authority over you cause its their house. they literally forgot about you when you left. op said it themselves, as soon as she left they acted like she didnt exist, then when she came back all of a sudden they want to get into her business and whatnot. op has AWFUL parents and i really hope she sees that soon because thats one toxic relationship she has with them.

Story 3: Imagine how the kid would feel when learning the kid was meant for a baby that died. I don't imagine Becky would be happy about that. That aside, *THIS* is something to hold the relationships with the grandkids hostage over? Give me a damn break
