That dumb barrier to effect can be damn terrifying. My wife is a PhD in cell biology, from a global top 15 uni, she's working on gene editing for a UN lab, yet as a highschooler she got scolded for not grasping some programming homework, to this day she's convinced that programming as a whole is hard and scary.

Whenever I read an article, I have to sift through 10 paragraphs of a life story before I get to the recipe.

I teach Haskell in German as an ESL Vietnamese. The objective is to be better at 3 things: - German - Programming - Communication skills And I feel exhausted after doing that. It’s a form of mental and emotional exercise.

So basically the takeaway is - use AI as little as possible, especially if you are just starting out. The competition might be faster now, but they will fall behind and you can always start using AI more if necessary
