I just won the lottery for the Berlin Marathon! Your videos really stimulated me!
Just finished my first half marathon. When I started on this journey I expected a 2:30 finish. Your videos were so helpful in my journey these last 3 months. Today I crossed the finish line at 1:56. Awesome videos!
Nice video, having my first marathon coming Sunday
First day of the intermediate marathon plan today! Aiming for sub 3:30 in my first marathon.
I always start my training blocks too hot & have to sit out the first 2 weeks with shin splints… definitely recommend taking easy days EASY!
Good advice.. to those running their first marathon. Training at some point will suck, it will hurt and you will feel tired during training. But it's well worth it when you cross the finish line. My only advice is. In the week of your marathon chill out do a minimal of running and carb up drink lots of water in the up to the race. Edit: one more advice... Priorities sleep
Perfect timing, about to start my training
Always been weary of the marathon distance. Finding you on YouTube helped me find the courage to run my first marathon. I started training about little over a year ago by following 10k plans until the start of my Marathon plan. Been running 5 times a weeks for over a year, and am super optimistic about reaching my main time target goal. The fueling really made a huge difference. Instead of basing the gel consumption on time, I'm basing it off on distance, so I'm taking my gels roughly at every 25-ish minutes. I chose this because I'm matching gel consumption with aide stations. I notice that when I take gels, I like to consume a bit more water to wash down the syrupy sensation from my throat. The extra water from aide stations would allow me to make water in my soft flasks last a bit longer.
I used your half-marathon plan to run my first half-marathon in Songkhla last year. I am using your marathon plan for my first marathon this year, so thanks for your help.
Ran my first marathon last year. Running 3 more this year but still love a new Ben Parkes video.
