That thumbnail gave me chills. My BF and I picked her up while she was hitching along I-4 here in central Florida back in 1989, thinking that her car had broken down or some such. The moment she got into the back seat every instinct we had screamed "GET HER OUT!" She gave us a sob story about needing to get to Tampa because her kids had no sitter. We dropped her off at a Waffle House with enough money to make a few phone calls (the only way to lure her out of our car). Not having a TV and being very busy with work at the time, I didn't find out who she was until the film "Monster" came out. Needless to say, that was the last time I so much as paused for a hitchhiker.
I noticed in school that I could get away with anything but certain people would get detention if they breathed wrong. I'm small and quiet. That doesn't mean I wasn't skipping class. It's weird, the associations we make. You can get away with a lot as a small woman!
Dr Harrison’s insights into the psychology of female serial killers add a whole new layer to understanding human behaviour. It’s fascinating (and chilling) to see how motives and methods differ by gender.
I got into this to analyze my mother and why she does and says the things she does. Outwardly and looking at patterns of behavior she most likely is borderline/narcissist. No one believed me it was as bad as it was for years. Not even a therapist. This demographic that you described hit me in the gut. Society needs to wake up and believe people when they say they are being hurt by someone in someway! Thanks for the info!
