I think the attitude of "we're not supposed to have kids before our late 20s/early 30s" comes from the culture. It comes from the parents of Millennials and Gen Z. The parents that were the most divorced generation in history, and they spread the culture to their kids. "Don't get married before you're 30. It was my biggest mistake/regret". You probably shouldn't listen to advice about marriage from the most divorced generation in history, but we did. And now it's a part of the culture.

Peter Zeihan said it best: "In the countryside, on the farm, kids are free labor. In the city, kids are very expensive furniture."

This isn’t the problem. If you live in the countryside, you have to drive 30-45 minutes to get to the bigger grocery stores, but they tend to have more children. Walkability isn’t the problem, it’s the culture of individualism, greed, and not building the world to last for the next generation.
