Actionable Strategies to Naturally Restore Eyesight Function

Discover actionable, natural strategies, rooted in mitochondrial health, to potentially reverse common vision problems like eye strain, cataracts, and glaucoma. Readers will learn specific nutritional and behavioral hacks to support long-term eye health.

Short Summary

  • Address vision loss by supporting mitochondrial function in the eye's cones, which decline significantly with age.
  • Implement targeted nutritional support for specific conditions (e.g., high-dose Vitamin D3 for glaucoma, NAC for cataracts).
  • Utilize behavioral hacks like the 20/20/20 rule and focused outdoor viewing to relieve eye muscle strain. This presentation breaks down why vision declines based on cellular energy loss and offers 14 intervention points covering diet, supplements, and daily habits to restore clarity and function.

Cones are receptors in the eye primarily used for detecting color, daylight, and fine detail. Cones have the most mitochondria-packed cells in the entire retina. Mitochondrial loss related to aging can affect vision. As you age, you might notice the following stages of vision loss: 1. Contrast sensitivity loss 2. Need more light 3. See more glare in the dark 4. Age-related macular degeneration—can't see fine detail Cataracts occur when the lens of the eye becomes cloudy. This is often related to diet. Glaucoma is characterized by pressure in the eyes. High doses of vitamin D3 have been found to help reverse glaucoma. Your eyes are very sensitive to blood sugar problems, which is why one of the leading causes of blindness is diabetes. Improve your eyesight and support eye health with the following eye health tips: 1. Red light therapy 2. Regular exercise, intermittent fasting, keto, adequate sleep 3. Focus on far vision 4. Combat genetic susceptibility to poor vision with vitamin A 5. Increase lutein and zeaxanthin 6. Get your body into autophagy to eliminate floaters 7. Increase vitamin D and B3 for glaucoma 8. NAC for cataracts 9. Saffron for age-related macular degeneration 10. Use a reading light 11. Look around the sun (Sunlight hack) 12. Desk reset—take breaks from staring at a screen 13. Address dry eye with vitamin A and B1 14. I had poor vision in grammar school. By fourth grade, I couldn't see the blackboard unless I sat in the front row and squinted. I wore glasses and by my teens my vision was 20/80. At age 20 I moved to Hawaii and I used to go sit on the beach every day at sunset and watch the sun go down. Not high on the horizon, but low, maybe the last half hour of sunset. After a few months I saw that my eyeglass prescription needed renewing because the glasses didn't work any more. The doctor said that prescription was way too strong for me after testing my vision. I told him they worked perfectly until recently and he didn't believe me. My vision continued to improve and I quit wearing glass altogether. At that time, in 1970, no one believed vision could improve. I'm 76 now and haven't worn glasses for years. I always pass my driving test just fine. It took me years to realize it was that act of watching the sunset that had to be what healed my eyes and vision never went back.
