There is also a high correlation between pool drownings and new releases of Nicolas Cage movies lol.

`100 years ago people linked ice cream consumption with polio. They both also increased in the Summer.

Great information. Thanks! I've been taking about 3mg of melatonin for at least 25 years, maybe 30. I absolutely need it to fall asleep and everything else makes me feel horrible. I do have a very healthy lifestyle but I'm 55 and my heart tests strong and healthy. Glad to hear that I don't need to be too concerned.

Thanks for reviewing this subject so I can safely go back to taking my melatonin supplement. My capsules are 3mg and I open them up and take maybe a fifth of it as a single dose. Can’t take more because it makes me nauseous…

Thanks for explaining the flaws of a research paper that I myself found worrying. It is true you need a subscription to get melatonin in the UK but I have been getting melatonin from the States without a problem for a year. In fact I can imagine a lot of people in the UK are doing the same, we are of course statistically part of the none users. The downside of bad sleep has such an impact on health that if melatonin helps it is the lesser of two evils

Check out melatonin in sepsis patients. Reduced mechanical ventilation, reduced vasopressor use, etc.
