My name is John Chimenti and I am 67 and a half yrs old . I began a keto diet in late Nov. 22 . I was at 285 lbs. and pre diabetic with a fasting glucose regularly around 117 -120 . Been following and learning from Dr. Sten since then and now I know my body . Today 4/28/23 I weighed in at 219 . The same weight which I came out basic training in the Army 36 yrs ago ! My goal is to lose about 15 more pounds of fat while adding back 10 lbs of muscle . I continue to learn from Dr. Sten and will never go back to the way I was . My high weight in life was 342 !
I am a person who has a very high stress response to even tiny inputs and normally, listening to someone talk about stress, will trigger even more stress. You are the first person I have listened to, talk about it, that has actually not created a major stress response..thank you. I will try to research more into it, it is definitely a case of finding the root cause and not throwing things at it to cover it up.
A 30-45 minute walk will get you to Mid-Beta. I try to do this everyday and it keeps my stress level low.
You saved my life, after years of eating the USDA and FDA recommended "food pyramid" and becoming over weight and sick from it, then being "treated" in our overpriced "sick care system" by being over medicated to the point where the side affects were worse than the symptoms. Now the only two people outside of my family I truly trust for advise is my Pastor and Dr. Sten. You are a blessing, keep it up, you are saving lives.
Cut out eating Sugar and Carbs. Eat Meat, real butter and eggs....I never felt so good in my Life!!

I have found that by dropping my sugar intake and prioritising high quality protein and fats, my stress levels have reduced significantly. I sleep better. I have lost weight and am sporting a figure I am now confident with. Nothing else has changed I my life. I consider diet to be the most significant part of wellbeing. It is extraordinary.
Let me make a suggestion regarding starting meditation: Light a candle and stare at it. While you're doing this, don't try to stop your thoughts. Watch them. Acknowledge them. And pretend each is a movie scene. Let each scene go, as you would while watching a movie. At the end of the "movie," snuff the candle out. Using a candle is also great for people who have difficulty closing their eyes (due to fear, mistrust). You might be able to only do a few seconds at first, but keep building up. Master the candle technique first before moving onto more traditional meditation.
I found your videos five weeks ago. The first two weeks were me throwing out most of the “food” in my kitchen (I live alone so no problem). Since then I’ve gone shopping and have completely changed my life. I have one story to tell about my ankle. I have been preparing to have my ankle fused, I was an athlete and have had multiple surgeries so one more seemed standard. Now as I have watched more of your videos and started to embrace the intermittent fasting along with no carbs for the first time, it is absolutely amazing how much better my arthritis is in basically three weeks. I haven’t heard you mention arthritis but I’ve only watched about thirty of the videos. Yes, I would like to lose my belly fat to the tune of fifty pounds, but I feel that there is something even better that is going on with me. I have also slowed way down on alcohol which wasn’t necessarily my goal, but like my ankle seems to be a byproduct of what you are teaching me. I will be watching you as long as you continue to make these videos. I actually believe you are saving my life. Thank You.
Being mentally strong and resilient, I am pretty numb when it comes to stress response. I recognized I have a stressful life and just do the best you can and move along. Also, I am pretty grateful for what I have and see everything with a glass half full.
