I have an 2014 Audi A4 that I bought in 2016. It was a Certified Pre-Owned with 22k miles and has driven like a new car for 10 years. It's had some expensive service but I've got a great mechanic who's kept it to recommended maintenance. It still looks and runs great, but I crossed over 100k miles and know it's got a bit over a year before the timing chain needs to be replaced and it'll be time to clean the injectors. It's been such a good and reliable car that I'll probably keep it and plan for the cost. It's tough to let such a good car go and I may opt for something else as I head into retirement.

Jus changed the brakes for $1000... Bought it online and had a brake guy install them... Good tires should be $1000.

I can relate. My older AMG e63 is of course way out of warranty and I am always glancing down nervously expecting the engine light to come on. It’s an awesome car when it’s good but when it’s got a problem, it really hits the wallet hard.

I needed an SUV to get to the cabin up north, so I picked up a 2011 Mercedes GLK. Needed engine mounts so I was able to negotiate the price down $2k. Easy DIY fix for a couple hundred bucks. I do my own wrenching so I appreciate not having direct injection, start -stop technology, turbocharger, LED lights etc. Great little car, made in Bremen Germany. Should last as long as my 03 E class daily driver with 336k miles....

I have a 2014 Mercedes CLA 250 that looks much like this 2018 2-door. New tires, Goodyear, 18 inch size were $550. I just had new brake pads front and rear for $600 done at a Mercedes only shop. 124,000 miles and everything works. I had the front end and headlights wrapped in X-Pel film so it still looks new

You are a talented mechanic, you know the car inside out and up side down so it's pretty much a judgement call. If you sold it and bought another used one, you could be buying into someone else's problem. So, if it's just the little things that's breaking down and you can do it yourself to fix it, I'd say keep the car. It's nice and elegant, the color and the interior is rare and most of all, it's a Mercedes! If you drive a Lexus, yeah, it's more reliable and all this and that, but it doesn't drive the same (boring driving experience) and at the end of the day, it's still NOT a Mercedes :)

New brakes are not $2000. 4 Rotors from Mercedes parts $550. Akebono euro pad upgrade $300 for front and rear. Total parts $850-$1000 max. Just did mine. New OEM tires at discount tire were $1,400.

How much is insursnce and registration in Canada?

If you also need to replace a set of tires. Any buyer could see that and will drop the price accordingly. The question is do you replace the same run flat tires more expensive or do you replace them with regular tires better rides and buy an air pump in a flat repair bottle kit?
