I had a rare and aggressive cancer when I was 19 (I’m 32 now). This may sound unbelievable, but at one appointment, (after months of chemo that was not proving very effective) my doctor asked me if I wanted to know my prognosis. I decided not to know. About a year later, after I was fully cancer free, I found out I had a less than 10% chance of survival. I think not knowing that information may have saved my life. I can’t imagine the fear that would have taken over my mind if I knew my odds were so bad.
As an autistic person who feels on many days that the world was so fundamentally not built for me, I NEEDED to hear 1:13:50 (And even more, I need others to hear it too:) "the more different you are from the person who wrote the rule, the more important it is for you not to mindlessly follow the rule" - Dr. Ellen Langer

I adore her personality, humor, assertiveness and wit! Protect this gem of a human at all costs!
After listening to almost every new episode of the Huberman Lab podcast, I have the biggest urge to comment and say that "this is the best one so far". THIS IS THE BEST ONE SO FAR! This episode felt like a culmination of all the psychological and biological discussions on the podcast. We're putting the pieces of the puzzles together and realizing that there is actually no mind-body dichotomy, and that it is all one system. As an environmental psychology researcher, to me this fracturing of the human experience is reminiscent of the false human-nature dichotomy. The day we finally realize the one-ness and interconnectedness of all being from an eco-centric lens, is the day we can heal ourselves and as an extension our human societies and non-human relative and our planet.
She is a GEM! Andrew is right, one of the few conversations and people that motivates you to rethink EVERYTHING! Please bring her back on. She is an absolute delight.
“There are two wolves inside of us all: one is filled with anger, fear, and self-doubt; the other with love, peace, and hope. The one who thrives is the one we choose to feed.”
2 minutes into the conversation and my mind is already blown! She got me at "uncertainty isn't an exception it's a rule"
"You can't see beyond your own development" explains soo much!
I need at least 30 more hours of her speaking
