Thank you Cassie, for reposting this as a marathon and for remembering, it means a lot. It seems people are forgetting our history these days. Again, thank you for keeping our history alive. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Probably the BEST miniseries EVER. Have watched it at least 20+ times. Rest easy men.
This is one of those shows that feels like an actual lifetime. You experience so many emotions. Sometimes it's so slow you almost get bored. Other times, it all goes by so fast you're wondering if you were even present. You laugh, you cry, you cry some more, you feel proud, you feel scared. At the end of episode 10, you feel like a part of the family that was Easy C. And then it truly hits you that these men experienced it all, but in real life. Not on a screen. And you are so humbled it makes you question your current life, and the respect you now have for the soldiers of WWII; for any man, woman and child that is forced to see the ugly side of war, is greater than anything you could ever imagine. Once in a lifetime show. Absolutely superb. ❤️
I'm Indonesian man 51 y.o. First time, I watched BoB series movie in 2008 and still watched it for several times, again and again. In my opinion, every soldiers who involved in allies were all heroes. They made a great history for all mankind against evil nazi. In fact, at the other side my nation in 1945 had a freedom from colonization of Japan and Netherland. Through this movie, I learned so much about human beeing, respect others and realize how great we are now live in peace. Thank you all 506 Airborne, especially Easy Company. I love you all and always be my heroes. ❤❤❤❤ -
When i was a kid, wW II vets were around the same age as i am now, in their 50s. I knew quite a few of them and knew a lot of their stories. I even worked with a man for awhile when i was in my late teens and early 20s who was at Bastone during “the Battle of the Bulge”. My heart hurt for him during our Christmas parties when hed have a few drinks and start to cry. We also had a Jewish man who survived an extermination camp come to our school and speak of the atrocities and his family members who were killed. I’ve always had the utmost respect and admiration for the Greatest generation. There are very few left.
Renee was based on Renee LeMaire, known as the 'Angel of Bastone.' Killed by a German bomb Christmas Eve 1944.
Malarkey finished his degree at the University of Oregon and finalized settling in Salem, OR. He passed away in 2017.
Cassie, thank you for doing what Memorial Day is supposed to be about: honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can have the freedoms we enjoy today.
A "passive-aggresive demotion" - brilliant! Also known as being "booted upstairs".
When I was a kid in the 70s, I remember a WW2 veteran taking off his artificial leg to swim laps at the local pool. Always stoic and a pillar of our small town. My father always pointed to this man as an example on how to conduct my life when I was a young man.
