Benicio gives an all time performance in this one. He is a phenomenal actor.

What brilliant story telling this is. Kate is not the protagonist of this story. It's just told through her eyes. Alejandro is the protagonist. It's a revenge story. He's the Sicario

This movie is such a masterpiece. I remember watching this in theaters and physically not breathing during the Juarez scene. The soundtrack for this was insanely ominous.

Sicario is a masterpiece. What a movie. I could watch it over and over because of the powerful acting.

Taylor Sheridan had one of the best debuts a screenwriter could have with his first 3 movies. Hell or High Water and Wind River are also incredible.

The existence of the Medellin cartel basically made it easier for the US to exert control over the drug trade. When Pablo Escobar died, that entire enterprise fell apart and the result was multiple splinter factions fighting it out for control. The war between these cartels was chaotic and indiscriminate with their targets, often inflicting heavy collateral damage on civilians. That is why Matt (Brolin) says they are trying to return the status quo back to a time when there was a semblance of order.
