Because of segregation in 1932 Mississippi the Asian couple have two stores one for the white side of the street and one for the black side of the street. The wife handles the white side of the street. Her husband handles the black side of the street. Along with blacks Asian men were also discriminated against as well and that's also why the daughter had to go get the wife to discuss making the signs for smoke bcuz the husband is not allowed on the white side of the street as an Asian man..

The vampire wanted to see his family again. He was very old. So he wanted Sammy’s music to open the veil for him to see them. Once he turns you they are like the borg.

One of my favorite scenes was when Bo told Lisa to go get Grace. I read where Coogler made it a continuous shot that followed Lisa across the street and Grace back to show how the whites and blacks would stay on their sides of the street, but the Asians could move back-and-forth between the two groups. Subtle but very clever…

The actor that plays Sammy his name is Miles Caton. He is a music prodigy that learned to play the blues guitar two months before filming his very first role in sinners. His family are well-known gospel singers. Miles was also a backup singer for the artist known as H.E.R.. She recommended him for the role..

It was his talent; from culture to culture , the narrator makes mention of singular individuals, with talent/ability so great that they act as a bridge for their people. That was Sammie; he stood as a beacon, and that beacon got seen by all spirits, good or bad

It's one twin for each woman (Stack for Mary, Smoke for Annie)...pretty easy to follow, honestly.
