Companies need to stop being weird about time off. If you are not abusing the system, then they should just be fine about it. The same if an employee doesn't take the days off, then they should pay out at the year end or whenever for the unused time because it keeps the workers happy & they work longer making you more money.
2:39 "he never thought anyone would actually read the handbook" That is such a crappy thing for a boss to say, on so many levels!
I put in a time off request for just TWO HOURS for my son's 15 month doctor appointment.... I put this request in right after his 12 month appointment.... so for 3 months this time off request just sat there. I sent 2 emails. no response. the night before my boss texted me saying "I can't approve your time off" I responded with "you have had 3 months to approve it." she said "oh. I see that. you are approved"
Story 2: the manager is actually the daycare manager, not OP's
Should have towed the day care manager's car.
The dealer story is the best example of get to know at least the minimum of your co workers because she thought everyone else had didn’t have enough time to be even pettier than her
I miss r/Idontworkherelady I miss those.
It's exceedingly dumb to screw with a cooperative situation with your neighbors as long as no one gets hurt why fuss... no one ever wins in those situations...the daycare should have made an arrangement to use the parking lot leaving their parking for the kids and parents, instead of going nuclear asap.
First story: There is a simple, easy, and reasonable fix the company could have adopted: PTO doesn't expire. It would've been great for everybody, they could've continued saving their PTO for when they really needed it, and the company wouldn't have had a bunch workers all trying to take time off all at once.
Parking story OP is a better man than I am. I would’ve done what he did, *BUT ALSO* towed her car when she was in my lot.
