I was RELENTLESSLY bullied through 7th - 12th grade. If social media was a think then, I honestly don't know if I would have come out alive. I am 38 and STILL dealing with the ramifications. Hard for me to make friends because it's hard for me to trust. I developed generalized anxiety disorder, suffered with multiple substance issues. I don't have kids but if i end up having one I am scared shitless about bringing them up in this age of internet.

YouTube absolutely should be held responsible...no money...less exploitation. Youtube is encouraging this by paying her.

It's also interesting how many states are passing bills in favor of child labor, I don't think the system is really trying to protect them

I had to block my 9 year old granddaughter from watching Piper. I actually sat down and watched a couple of episodes with my gd and my jaw dropped. The scenarios, like sneaking out of windows and the drama was unreal AND not to mention, this poor little girl was wearing practically no clothes!!

The collective mama bear rage is real. I am a n g r y. Adults need to do better. 😡

When I was a young preteen in the 70's, I remember a news report about deputies sharing their kids. I don't get it. My dad saw someone we knew inappropriately looking at me(not cute, not sexy) He kept that person away from us after that. My dad would have been blocking anything we did that he thought might bring harm to us.

I will never be able to understand how a parent could exploit their child in these ways. How selfish do you have to be to willfully put your child into abusive, traumatic, situations that will impact them for life? Jennette's book put it best with the quote from her grandpa. Something like "a little girl shouldn't be worried about providing for her family"

Why no criminal investigation of abuse prompted by squad parents prior to financial losses? Turn blind eye til kid’s revenue plummets? I have questions!

The Dad Challenge Podcast covers the child exploitation on social media, especially Family Vloggers - often from the time kids are literally birthed on the parents' YT channels. Adoptions for clout and lots more like the Piper Rockelle situation. Thank you Emily for covering this important topic. Forgot to say - ppl, you should see DCPs dive into the stats of WHO is watching these kids, like Everleigh Le Brandt. Predator play lists, Pintrest pages... directing predators to "preferred" contact served up free on social media. Doesn't even need to be this overtly sexualised stuff - kids at dentist, bathing suits, bra sizing, periods.... 😡🤬

I don't even put pictures of my children on my private social media for their privacy, I cannot imagine putting them on video for the world to see.
