I happen to believe the financial stuff IS important. It's hard for decent people to believe a man would kill his wife and child, especially with that outward display of closeness. Buy hey!, decent people wouldn't steal from clients, especially those in serious need. Alex did ... and some of those were friends he "loved".
My heart says he did it my brain says the state didn't quite meet their burden.
I have to say, I am so Incredibly Thankful for my Sobriety Today!! I used to take 15-20 Lortab 10mg a day! I have no earthly idea how I am alive today, BUT, Today I am glad I am!!!🙏💜🙏
I think Alex had a psychotic break and chose to annihilate his family. He was losing everything that was important to him and he killed Paul and Maggie in an attempt to reduce the threat to his status. His malfeasance was exposed the same week his father was released from the hospital and sent home to die. Alex, Maggie, Buster and Paul were all being sued and held accountable for the death of Mallory Beach who died in a boat crash caused by the reckless actions of their drunk son. Moreover, Alex was being investigated for obstruction of justice in the case. Maggie was devastated by her loss of status after her sons boat crash. She wanted to move. Cheques were bouncing . She went from wearing Gucci to selling her purses and clothing on-line. His alleged affair still bothered her. Then, once again she found his pills. The marriage was deteriorating.
I felt the statement where he couldn't remember a single conversation or moment when he stole from people was powerful. Some of those were people he was supposedly close to and loved. To me, that highlights how coldhearted he was, particularly when you hear about the friend that was dying from cancer and needed the money..
what sticks out in my mind was Maggie's sister telling that Alex said he thought whoever killed Maggie and Paul, had planned it for a long time. He told on himself.
Emily, you know that totality of character matters, esp that of a very highly criminal nature, it shows him spiraling out of control—to wrap it up at the end— the jury is not as intelligent or law knowledgable as you, I think it is very relevant.
Soooo heavy to realize she perceived no threat and ran towards Paul!!! I saw and heard the sadness in your voice. I felt the pain
@Emily D Baker I died when you said "I do like the background color of the power point though" 🤣❤🤣
Last 2-3 days Alex has started smirking … that says a lot to me.
