The audience on this channel that I know and love are not a judgmental bunch. These comments about Andrew‘s eyes are shallow and insulting. Andrew is one of the leading researchers in his field and is also one of the most fit people that I personally know. If you are going to judge somebody because of bags under his eyes due to a lifetime metabolic condition, I truly don’t consider you part of my tribe. The audience that I know and love is accepting of others, and judges somebody on the content of their character rather than their appearance. These comments that come from a loud minority, do not represent those that I wish to be associated with. Inquisitive comments are one thing, but bashing somebody’s entire identity because of how they look is not going to be tolerated on this channel.
My father had type 1 and I found him on the floor in a coma many times in 1960's when I was a teen. He went through it when his first morning activity was boiling his needle in a saucepan. This young man is so fortunate to have the modern CGM that my dad and two cousins with childhood type 1 never had. My cousins both went blind before 40 and passed away before 45. He is so brilliant, skilled and handsome, and has accomplished so much. Was a pleasure to listen to him. People, we all have struggles and this young man manages his with grace and intelligence. He should be very proud as I am sure his folks are also. Regards from an 80 year old grandma.
As a type 1 diabetic of 20 years on a fat loss journey I found this video to be so incredibly helpful. I was disappointed by the lack of empathy and humanity while scrolling the comments. I get that maybe this isn’t the most helpful video for everyone, but there is such a lack of available resources for weight loss while living with this disease, and it is so nice to feel included in the conversation. If it isn’t for you that’s fine, just move on. THANK YOU for this video.
Yet again, a professional who is focused on getting data to the masses instead of focused on his wallet. Tysvvvvm
Brilliant man, managing T1D brilliantly. My brother was T1D & I remember him boiling his needles. He taught me how to give him insulin shots in case he was found unconscious. He was one of the first people to get an insulin pump, but it was too little, too late. He died of complications of T1D at age 38. It is so thrilling to see diabetes, carbohydrate, & insulin science unfold before our eyes. Gold medals to all the scientists who have & are eucidating this heartbreaking condition.
The anonymity of the internet leads people say things that they wouldn’t say otherwise. People think they are being so funny forgetting that real people are having their feelings hurt. He clearly is a very knowledgeable man.
I wasn’t planning on commenting, but maybe someone here needs this. For the longest time, I felt like I was running on empty—my body exhausted, my mind scattered, always feeling just a little off without knowing exactly why. I tried so many things—vitamins, different routines—but nothing seemed to bring me back to center. Then I stumbled across The Hidden Herbs by Anette Ray, and it felt like reconnecting with something ancient and forgotten. Learning about the healing plants that have been quietly supporting us for centuries—it gave me not just remedies, but a sense of grounding I didn’t know I was missing. It’s not about quick fixes or miracle cures; it’s about remembering the wisdom that’s always been there. If you’re feeling worn out, disconnected from yourself, maybe this is the gentle reminder you need too.
I always tend to enjoy Andrew's talks - I have no specific personal or academic focus on the deeper diabetic aspects but I find the whole insulin discussion, and how that data pertains to navigating approaches towards keto and more general diet, quite fascinating. It's perhaps all the more interesting as he also lives in the research. Always a joy.
Andrew’s experience with diabetes makes his commentary laden with insight. You can’t get this kind of input from someone speaking from their intellect. He speaks of awareness, the consistency and the practicalities of addressing these issues 24/7. I’m new to the diagnosis of Type 2…and his qualities are exactly what I need to craft a program for reversing this. 🦋
Im a type 1 diabetic...and the way body metabolises glucose and insulin sensitivity and over all metabolism is directly linked to methylation cycle which diabetic conditions suppress...so I guess the most important factor diabetic community is missing is addressing the methylation cycle and mthfr gene polymorphisms...the moment I addressed these changes my liver function improved my insulin sensitivity improved I feel more energetic and happy. 😊
