I fast for 14hrs and break my fast with eggs, yogurt and meat protein! Exercise 6x a week- 2 upper body, 2 lower body, 2 15min Hitt days with light activity through the day and a recovery day, I increased my steps and I am seeing amazing results. I just turned 51 and am in the best shape of my life, Strength training and building back our muscle is so important as we age!
My cortisol drops when my familial relationships are peaceful. When there is stress, it goes high. I didn’t realize how much people affected me until I dropped the destructive ones
Dr Bikman is right about influencers. Most speak a to low body fat and jacked audience that tell you to carb up or lose muscle. I've lost over 200 and been able to put on muscle on a ketogenic diet. I still have 40 lbs to go and lift daily.

I'm 42, I learned 1.5 years ago that heavy exercise and lifting increases cortisol in women and stunts weight lost. I used a program called metaboost that uses foods designed for women's hormones. I started walking 15 min or more a day (which equates to a mile minimum) and doing very light pilates or body weight based movements 10-20 min 3-5 times a week, that are not strenuous. I've lost 35lbs and kept it off! I have not been this weight since I was 25 years old! I keep telling women, stop following male designed work out programs! listen to your body and just slow down, rest between. Starving or drastically cutting food groups is stressful= cortisol! Have matcha, cayenne, dark berries, apples, (organic) eggs, humane meats, veggies steamed with a lil tallow /garlic salt... shitake, garlic, ginger, turmeric, cinammon, tomato - use rice vinegar/avo or olive oil - mustard for salad dressing... eat out once a week, have a dessert 1-3 times a week! it doesnt have to be crazy!... if you tolerate - sourdough bread (i make banana and sesame seed crisp for bread) ... you can have pasta! just hold back on fried snacks... try plain nuts, cut carrot/bells/ hummus, apple almond butter, cherries, instead take rueteri probiotic, fermented food I fast 14 to 20 varied thru the week. I'm so happy, healthy, energetic and people think I'm in my 20's (I henna my hair 😂)... its not as hard as we make it in our mind... start where you are, replace 1 thing at a time until you are excited about healthier foods... i get excited over a golden kiwi or beautiful vine tomato... a juicy Fuji or spicy radish... I look at the chips i used to eat and can feel how my body hates these things and yeah my mouth is excited but my body hurts from these things. God bless all of you ❤
