I took apple cider vinegar twice a day for three or four months. I did not lose any weight, but it did remove the protective coating on my teeth..
I use ACV to settle my stomach and reduce acid reflux. Acid reflux aggravates my sleep apnea which causes me to gain weight. ACV is super cheap so there's no profit in doing studies (although David Sinclair may try to patent it). I can't wait decades for a proper randomized control trial to confirm my anecdotal experience.
We KNOW mechanistically how vinegar inhibits alpha amylase. This is not some statistical artifact, we know this. There is even measures about how different vinegars interact with it. The criteria for inclusion in the analysis should be done on How did people take it? It should be taken just before a meal (minutes), otherwise is not going to serve you. You can test this with a glucose monitor.
I had horrible acid reflux 6 years ago. I learned that the older we get, the less acid we have in the stomach. Causing heartburn. I started taking ACV pills before meals. It has worked really well. I'll never stop. I've never been taking it for weight loss. Thank you for information!!!! π
you made a video a long time ago on berberine, I heard a lot of good think around this molecule, would it be interesting to update the video or nothing of value was added ?
Wow that was excellent thank you! I've been following you for about 6 months and you're good but I didn't realize how good until now. I have a masters in microbiology and immunology and I understand the biology and biochemistry of what you recommend. But you just gave the best explanation of the latest data that I've ever heard. Thank you I'm the only thing I would suggest is to quit ignoring the elephant in the room, alcohol and drugs, which most people struggle with. Just say it, stopping harmful habits and adopting healthy lifestyles is the best answer, and lying to ourselves that some diet or substance like apple cider vinegar is going to fix whatever, is probably just pie in the sky until we adopt a holistic and healthy lifestyle. Thank you, you are excellent!

How much does the placebo affect really change objective measures like blood glucose? I know that itβs been documented, but itβs gotta be much less significant compared to placebo effect on subjective measures
As for weight loss, getting the diet right is more important than simply adding ACV to a bad diet. But ACV, or any vinegar for that matter, really helps your digestion, especially when you get old and you have some kind of inflammation in the esophagus or duodenum. For this purpose, you may want to combine vinegar with lemon juice (or citric acid in a pinch). This really helped my acid reflux on the esophagus AND the abdominal pain from the inflammation of duodenum. My mom was also on medication for some severe acid reflux on the esophagus, which didn't help at all. But once she took the combo of vinegar and citric acid once or twice a day, her pain simply went away and it's been more than a couple of years that way.
I use a teaspoon in my home made low fat dressing. So in that sense it works π
