Again, not helping with longevity doesn't mean it doesn't help with other parts of health.
Astaxanthin stops my skin from burning in the sun, and thats good enough for me.
We’re expecting a video soon: “I Was Completely Wrong About AKG and Astaxanthin.”
I do take astaxanthin but not for longevity, just for its anti-oxidant effect I have noticed my eyesight has improved and my optician agreed with me that it has. Another thing, it is not expensive.
I’m an optometrist (retired)and I use astaxanthin 12-24mg/day for dry eyes and discovered it also j helps big-time with night vision. My son (also an optometrist) has had dozens of patients report much improved dry-eye symptoms. Longevity? Let you know in 20 years (I’m 74).
If a compound reduces frailty by 40% but doesn't extend life by a single day, is it a failure? For those of us in our 60s, quality of function (mitochondrial health, recovery) is the metric that matters now. The ITP is a great 'Binary Audit' (Live/Die), but it misses the 'Performance Optimization' that researchers are targeting.
